Teen Room and Program Policy

LPL Teen Room and Program Policy

Rationale: This policy is to inform patrons of the rules and regulations regarding the Lunenburg Public Library’s Teen Room and Teen Programs.

Policy Statement: The Lunenburg Public Library recognizes the importance of providing young adults with a safe and comfortable environment that prioritizes their interests and needs.

Guidelines for use of the LPL Teen Room and attendance at Teen Programs:

The Teen Room is a space for patrons in grades 6-12. For the comfort and safety of teen patrons, individuals younger and older may only use the room to browse for and check out materials.

Per the Child Safety Policy, caregivers must accompany children under the age of 10 in the Teen Room, but time should be limited to the selection and check out of materials.

Teens caring for children under the age of 10 may be asked to leave the Teen Room for another area of the library.

The attendance of teen programs is limited to individuals in grades 6-12. For the comfort and safety of teen patrons, individuals younger and older are prohibited from attending teen programs. This does not apply to programs designed to be multigenerational.

Patrons that do not adhere to the policy may be asked to leave the Teen Room.
