New Visiting Opportunities for Lunenburg Library

The Lunenburg Public Library is making some exciting changes to operating hours and accessibility after Monday May 3, 2021.  Appointments are no longer required to visit the Library for browsing and will be replaced with a more flexible browsing window Mondays through Thursdays and Saturday from 10am until 2pm.  Additionally, the conference meeting room will be available for booking with some meeting restrictions.

Staff will be returning to the Library during regular business hours: Monday through Thursday from 10-8 and on Saturday 10-2.  Curbside pickup appointments will be available Monday through Thursday from 2pm until 7:45pm, and you can reach a staff member anytime by calling 978-582-4140 or emailing the general Library account at

To make visits to the Library easier, no appointment will be needed to enter the building from 10-2 Monday through Thursday and Saturday.  You can now stop by to browse library materials, pick-up holds, or use the computers or other technology anytime during this free browsing window.  The private study rooms will not be available at this time.

Face masks that cover both your nose and mouth are still required inside the building as is compliance with the social distancing guidelines from our state government.  We are happy to continue serving those who cannot wear masks with curbside service, available from 2-8 on weekdays and by request on Saturdays.  Please call the Library to schedule a curbside appointment.

The children and teen areas are accessible for browsing; however, toys, games and learning manipulatives remain in storage.  We encourage patrons to browse with their eyes and limit contact with materials as much as possible, as we are still required by government guidelines to quarantine materials that have been handled.

The Mary Ann Sudolnik Conference Room will also now be available for booking. Participants are required to social distance, maintain proper mask use, and disinfect surfaces with provided cleaning supplies after their conference. Due to the limited occupancy capacity of the space, we ask that groups with no more than 4 attendees book the space at this time.  To reserve the meeting space, please follow the steps outlined on our website’s “Reserve a Meeting Room” page under the Information tab.
